Who Runs The World?

Who Runs the World?

Girls! Miss Beyonce Knowles has told her audience again and again how important it is for a woman to be strong. Since her youth Knowles strived for stardom. With her fourth solo album, she's proven again that girl power is alive. Her latest album, "Four" was released at first on June 24th and later to the public on June 26th. Beyonce's combination of upbeat dance songs and powerful ballads have made their way to the charts.

The Billboard charts show her single,"Best I Never Had," as number 25. Moving down two spots from last week with seven weeks on the charts. Although this single has slid down a rung or two, B isn't sweating. Her latest album was crafted thanks to musical producer The Dream and other artists like Kanye and Andre 3000. Billboard's 200 (for this week) list features "4" as number 5. Just behind artists like Adele and Incubus, and before fellow diva Lady Gaga. Her album originally debuted in June at number 1. In recent news, she headlined at the Glastonbury Festival. The critics of the festival, Digital Spy readers named Beyonce as the best act. On July 3rd her Beyonce World website announced her appearance on the X-factor. Where the star will be celebrated and perform during an hour long special. Thanks to her presence at the Glastonbury Festival, Beyonce managed to snag number two on UK album charts.

Allow me to Catch My Breath
Beyonce said, "My life was award shows and tour buses and hotels and it kind of goes by so fast...I couldn't even hear it anymore. I'm just thinking about the next shoot...the next video...the next tour." Soon after her I AM tour Beyonce decided to take a sabbatical. The starlet had become exhausted by the 24/7 job that is being genuinely famous. Unlike countless "celebrities" that didn't really earn their way to fame. During her time off, B focused on her personal life, musical inspiration, and most importantly herself. Tour after tour tends to wear down on any talent, and Beyonce needed a break. Although she stepped out of the limelight, her fans never stopped. This diva has endless fan-ran twitter, Facebook, and websites to keep the public tuned in on news. Her "Crazy in Love" fans keep the star feeling loved and motivated.
Knowles is often recognized for her kind soul, extreme talent, charity work, and down to earth personality. She has had an amazing career and she's not even 30. She worked closely with MTV producers to finalize a special "Beyonce: Year of 4." The special captures on film, her time off. This special served as a primer to the anticipated release of her album 4. This behind the scenes approach is what Beyonceis known for, a tightly knit relationship with her fans. The special highlights her hiatus as Knowles focuses on what's to come.

Influences of 4:
Beyonce has been influenced by many artists of her time. This album notes a clear Michael Jackson tone. Her first influence over the proceedings of the album, Jay-Z, her husband and musical mentor. Odd Future's Frank Ocean was pointed out to Beyonce. Beyonce says, "I noticed his tone, his arrangements, and his storytelling." Frank Ocean helped her write "I Miss You," bringing his creative view to the table. Kanye West also collaborated on the song "Party" for this album. The combination of Jay-Z, Kanye, and Frank Ocean have helped Beyonce to mold a masterpiece.

Slow start up to success for 4
After the premiere of "Who Runs the World," fans went nuts about the content and cinematography, but this album is taking a hard hit. Album 4 is her lowest grossing album yet, although her first four debut albums have hit the charts. Maybe listeners are confused by the fact that there is no clearly defined it song of the album? Her other three albums have found glory through singles like, "Crazy in Love," "Baby Boy," "Irreplaceable," and "Single Ladies." She obviously hasn't lost her audience, but critics were expecting more of a comeback on the charts (with one year off). Regardless of what critics have to say Beyonce is unstoppable. The immense love she shares with her fans is reciprocated back to her each day. Queen isn't a very common nickname; Queen B earned her spot as a top-charting music sensation. Beyonce will forever be known as a musical mastermind.
